We have unfortunately just learned some very sad news, as Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders organization are in mourning and going through a difficult time. The team's captain, Anders Lee, has shared the heartbreaking announcement.
NHL players are currently enjoying their summer break, but many have already resumed training in preparation for the 2025-26 regular season.
In Brossard, captain Nick Suzuki is on the ice at the Canadiens' training complex, joined by his Montreal teammates, including Ivan Demidov, Arber Xhekaj, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, Alex Newhook, Alexandre Carrier, Samuel Montembeault, Florian Xhekaj, and Patrik Laine.
Unfortunately, things are quite different today for Patrick Roy and the New York Islanders, as they are facing an extremely difficult time.
Bobby Marsala, a longtime employee who had been with the organization for 15 years and was well known to the players because of his difficult personal story, has passed away in recent hours after a tough battle with cancer. He was the father of two young children.

Upon learning of Bobby Marsala's passing, captain Anders Lee was devastated and shared the sad news on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.
"I'm heartbroken to learn that Bobby, a member of our Islanders family, lost his battle with cancer. If you're able, please consider donating to support his wife and children. My condolences go out to his loved ones."
