Former Canadiens player Jesperi Kotkaniemi gets into trouble and receives a sanction from the NHL
Years go by and seem to be similar for Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Criticized for inconsistency with the Canadiens, it was believed that experience would help him, but he continues to struggle with the Hurricanes.
Indeed, the former 3rd overall pick had a great start to the season, but has been in a goal drought since December 19. Despite being paired with good players in the top 6, he has struggled to produce.
While having scored only one goal since December 19, KK is visibly frustrated at the moment and took it out on Joel Hanley of the Dallas Stars. He delivered an elbow hit, and the Department of Player Safety took action.
Indeed, the forward received a fine of $5,000 for his actions.
We hope he finds his form because things are not going well for him. For comparison, he is having a season similar to Josh Anderson in Montreal.
