Connor Bedard has only played one season in the NHL and is already a star, especially for his ability to score goals from anywhere.

Scoring 22 goals and 61 points in 68 games as a rookie, while being the best player on the team at 18 years old, is quite an achievement in my opinion.

Bedard carried the Blackhawks when he was in the lineup, but he can't do everything alone and still has a lot to learn.

We just got a clear example of this, as he was used very sparingly in Canada's game against the Czech Republic.

Even though Bedard is one of the best players in the tournament, he obviously did something that his head coach didn't appreciate, and he was benched.

"In the 4-3 win against the Czech Republic, Connor Bedard was the least-used forward for Canada.

He had 10 shifts and played 8:08. He is not injured. This is what you call learning, and even the biggest stars go through it."

Luc Gélinas

Despite his 7 goals, Bedard remains a young player at only 18 years old who has a lot to learn, and his coach is ensuring he gets the best out of him.

It will be interesting to see how he bounces back, as he is not used to being sidelined.

Personally, I am not worried about him; he has the strength of character to handle it well.

In the tournament, the best player so far is Dylan Cozens from Canada. Canadiens' prospect Oliver Kapanen is performing very well, as are Kaiden Guhle, Juraj Slafkovsky, and Cole Caufield.
