Now that Pat Verbeek, the GM in Anaheim, has acquired Cutter Gauthier, it's hard not to think that Zegras could be on the market, and this possibility was raised by none other than insider Darren Dreger.
The Ducks' top 6 will consist of Mason McTavish, Troy Terry, Cutter Gauthier, and Leo Carlsson, plus they will likely have a top 5 pick this year. It's understood that Zegras is far from untouchable by then, especially with the tensions between the team and him.
On the defensive side, the prospect pool is also excellent in Anaheim. The only question mark is in front of the net.
We don't know what the Ducks' GM could ask from Kent Hughes for Zegras, but one can imagine that it will have to be an offer that Verbeek cannot refuse.
