Monster trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Calgary Flames involving Jonathan Huberdeau: No one seems to want the Hometown forward

Jonathan Huberdeau is quite a hockey player, and he proved it for several years in Florida. However, since signing his lucrative contract in Calgary, it's been a different story.

It's evident that he's not as dominant, even quite ordinary. Moreover, he lacks the "eye of the tiger" in his gaze. In short, he resembles a Jonathan Drouin in Montreal, unhappy and stifled by the pressure.

What doesn't help him are his comments. This summer, he mentioned that he didn't enjoy going to the rink and that last year was tough for him. He was given the benefit of the doubt, considering he played under Darryl Sutter.

This year, it's even worse, and the Hometown forward has made another statement that hasn't won unanimous approval.

"I'm trying to forget about it," added the left-winger who commands an annual salary of $10.5 million. "I can go 60 games without a point there. You want to get them, but I stopped thinking about it because it would frustrate me." - Jonathan Huberdeau

It's understood that one needs to forget about the star status and the salary, simply rediscover the joy of playing hockey, and all that. But as a professional, saying these kinds of things in front of the media is unacceptable. It doesn't reflect well and is unprofessional.

In fact, a poll has been launched on social media, asking if fans would like to see Huberdeau in Montreal for $8.5 million per year, provided the Flames trade the forward to the Canadiens and retain $2 million per year of his salary.

The response is clear. 75% of people want nothing to do with it. Jo could bounce back in Montreal, but in light of what we've seen in the last year and a half, it's enough for the majority of a fan base to no longer want him, whereas the numbers were reversed not so long ago.
