However, in the subsequent 27 games, he has accumulated only 3 points, including a single goal. His head coach has had enough, and he has been relegated back to the fourth line.

Indeed, during Monday's practice, KK was skating on the fourth line, after numerous chances on the second trio. It's challenging to understand how consistently this player alternates between success and mediocrity.

It's worth noting that Kotkaniemi is being paid nearly 5 million per year until 2030. The Hurricanes were convinced they had made a great move, but it has been a total failure so far.

We are no longer talking about a prospect or a young player; he is now 23 years old, in his 6th NHL season. While there is still room for improvement, we are starting to get a clear picture of the type of player he is.

Additionally, the Hurricanes have a strong offense, and KK was playing with good players on the second line, yet he failed to make a significant impact on the scoresheet.

We hope he can turn things around and finally find his rhythm in the NHL because, at the moment, his contract seems to be a burden for the organization.
