Indeed, the St-Agathe native has not yet made his debut in the 2024 playoffs. It's really a shame, because he had a very good season and could increase the value of his next contract by having a good playoff run.
Remember that in 2021, during the Stanley Cup Final with the Canadiens, Drouin was also out of the game. So it's been a long time since he participated in the playoffs.
Drouin will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. He was by far the biggest bargain of the season in the NHL, with 56 points in 79 games. This was his best points haul of his career, while being paid $825,000.
We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he can sign a nice contract this summer, whether it's with Colorado or elsewhere. At 29 years old, there's still plenty of great hockey left in Drouin.
