As we mentioned earlier this week, the Montreal Canadiens decided to order neck guards that are available to players who are willing to try them out, which is a great initiative.
During practice this morning, two players were seen wearing them, Brendan Gallagher and Michael Pezzetta. For number 55, it was due to his mother's pressure that he decided to wear it, while for Gally, it's directly related to Adam Johnson.
According to number 11, it's not as uncomfortable as one might think. It's surprising. He's not sure if he will wear it during games and when he'll start, but he will certainly continue to wear it during practices.
Even considering that the Canadiens are a young team, it's still sad. Making fun of a player, even if it's in good spirits and done amicably, for wearing such an important piece of equipment, goes against logic. It clearly indicates that there is much progress to be made in this regard.
