There's no doubt that Patrick Roy's successes with the Remparts this year are drawing the attention of several NHL general managers. In recent weeks, Roy has been linked with teams like the New York Rangers and the Columbus Blue Jackets as a potential target for the head coaching position.

However, on The Sick Podcast with Tony Marino, Georges Laraque made a rather controversial statement. Indeed, he mentioned that the best place for Patrick Roy would be with the Montreal Canadiens.

"Patrick Roy should be with the Montreal Canadiens. He's one of the greatest ambassadors of the organization, we lost Guy Lafleur, Patrick Roy should be there. We should find a role for him so he can be with the team. I'm not saying as head coach, Martin St. Louis is already there, but why not as an assistant coach with him?"

Tony Marinaro completely disagreed with Georges Laraque's comments, who did not believe in the possibility of seeing the former goaltender join the Habs.

We share Marinaro's opinion, we don't see how Patrick Roy could be a fit with the CH. The Quebec Remparts' coach would undoubtedly want a head coaching role if he decides to make a return to the NHL. It would be greatly surprising if he accepted an assistant coaching position to join the Canadiens.

Patrick Roy as an assistant coach with the Canadiens do you believe it?
