Last-minute signing by the Montreal Canadiens organization: Kent Hughes has signed hometown forward Gabriel Bourque
In the last few minutes, wearing his hat as the general manager of the Laval Rocket, Kent Hughes has signed hometown forward Gabriel Bourque to a one-year, one-way (AHL) contract.
This is an excellent signing for the Canadiens' farm team, as the young prospects making the jump to the professional ranks next season will benefit from the presence of a veteran who has already played over 400 games in the NHL.

The 32-year-old left winger has recorded 40 goals and 63 assists (103 points) in 413 NHL games, having played for several teams such as the Nashville Predators, Colorado Avalanche, and Winnipeg Jets.
Since joining the Canadiens organization at the start of the 2021-2022 season, Gabriel Bourque has accumulated 59 points in 133 games with the Laval Rocket. There is no doubt that he will be a vital veteran presence in Jean-François Houle's lineup next season.
