Kent Hughes had some work to do to replenish his lineup following the trade of Sean Monahan. The team is now left with only two centers, which is obviously a problem.

The GM decided to address this early on Sunday morning, announcing the recall of Lucas Condotta.

But that's not all. The Rocket's top player and the 4th leading scorer in the American Hockey League, Brandon Gignac, has just signed a two-season, two-way contract.
"BROSSARD – Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Sunday that the team has agreed to terms on a two-year, two-way contract (2023-24 to 2024-25) with forward Brandon Gignac.

A native of Repentigny, QC, Gignac played 43 games with the Laval Rocket this season, registering 42 points (14G, 28A). The 26-year-old forward, who leads the Rocket in goals, assists, and points, also served 36 penalty minutes so far in 2023-24. Gignac was tied for fifth in AHL scoring when he signed his contract." - Montreal Canadiens

This announcement for Gignac has been awaited for a while, and it has finally happened. Now, all that's left is to announce his recall.
