The Canadiens acquire Jeff Petry, Casey DeSmith, Nathan Légaré, and the Penguins' second-round pick in 2025 in exchange for Mike Hoffman and Rem Pitlick.

Wow! Note that the Penguins are retaining 25% of Petry's salary in the trade. So, he is returning to Montreal, but at a discount.
At first glance, this seems to be an excellent transaction by Kent Hughes.
