We've just learned that Martin St-Louis is putting his trust in Samuel Montembeault for the matchup against the Ottawa Senators.
It's now confirmed: Monty will be the starting goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators.
The information was reported almost simultaneously by Renaud Lavoie and Anthony Martineau of TVA Sports, and many other sources. This news confirms what many (myself included) anticipated after several games from
Jakub Dobes.

- Renaud Lavoie
Samuel Montembeault looks to revive his season with the Montreal Canadiens
This will be the perfect opportunity for Montembeault to show what he's made of!
Personally, I truly think this is an excellent decision.
"When I was a player, I had starts like that and when I had those starts, it's not like I forgot how to play hockey. Sam will be a big part of our success this year. I'm not worried" - MSL
The Canadiens will need a strong goalie duo to keep pace throughout the season, and giving this start to Monty could be a positive turning point for the rest of the year.
I really think it'll be interesting to see how his performance influences Martin St-Louis' next decisions.
We wish Monty a Happy Birthday!
