Kent Hughes and the Montreal Canadiens made another important decision this Thursday by placing William Trudeau on waivers.
The goal behind this move is to assign him to the Laval Rocket, where he'll be able to regain his rhythm after missing a lot of playing time due to an injury. To be more specific, the injury was a torn pectoral muscle.
"The Canadiens have placed defenseman William Trudeau on waivers for the purpose of a loan to the Laval Rocket."

As Marco D'Amico explained, Trudeau - like
David Reinbacher - had remained on the Canadiens' roster during his recovery.
"William Trudeau, like David Reinbacher, was kept on the Canadiens' roster because he was out with an injury.
Now that he's been activated, he's being sent down to Laval, but, unlike Reinbacher, has to go through waivers."

Now that he's officially healthy again, he can return to Laval, but unlike Reinbacher, he must first pass through waivers before being assigned.
Let's hope he isn't claimed within the next 24 hours.
William Trudeau Returns to Laval: A Key Step in His Development
Trudeau had a strong season last year with the Rocket, collecting 19 points in 68 games.
If all goes well, he'll join a Laval team currently in the middle of a home stretch.
In my opinion, this return comes at just the right time for Laval, which is desperately seeking more stability on the blue line.
I believe his addition could really help solidify the Rocket's defense and restore confidence to the team's young goaltenders.
