The Montreal Canadiens have confirmed that defenseman David Reinbacher has been assigned to the Laval Rocket.
I know, I know - no one was really expecting Reinbacher to play with the Canadiens this season.
So of course, it's not huge news in itself, but I think it's a very positive development!
This means that after injuring his hand several weeks ago, the young Austrian now seems to be fully recovered.
His return to play with Laval probably indicates that his rehabilitation is complete and that he's ready to get back into game rhythm.

David Reinbacher finally ready to get back into action with the Laval Rocket
"His rehabilitation is going very, very well. He's skating, he's training, and we should see him soon." - Pascal Vincent
It now seems that this moment has arrived.
Here's what Marco D'Amico said on the matter:
"Due to being injured, the Canadiens had to keep David Reinbacher on their NHL roster.
He's now healthy and eligible to play, likely this weekend, and is being sent back to Laval.
** Note that Reinbacher has been physically in Laval this whole time training and skating."

I can't wait to follow him in Laval soon!
