When it comes to the Montreal Canadiens' defense, the names most often mentioned are Lane Hutson and Noah Dobson, the high-impact acquisition.

But for columnist Richard Labbé of BPM Sports, another name deserves to be brought to the forefront: Kaiden Guhle.
Too often pushed to the background in media discussions, Guhle is, according to Labbé, the most crucial element of Montreal's defensive unit.
"Kaiden Guhle is going to be the key! He's the glue of this defensive corps," said the journalist, highlighting the quiet but incredibly essential role of the young defenseman from Alberta.
It's not the first time Guhle has been seen as a player who makes others shine. His ability to read the play, cover mistakes, and go up against the opponent's top players makes him a trusted defenseman for any coach.
He may not be the flashiest or the most productive on the scoresheet, but his efficiency is undeniable.

The Silent Engine of a Growing Defense

His physicality, calm under pressure, and commitment in all areas of the ice make him a complete player-capable of stabilizing a pairing or doing the dirty work others avoid.
As the Canadiens' young defensive core continues to carve out its place among the NHL's best, Guhle appears to be the glue holding that collective progress together.
And while the spotlight often shines elsewhere, those who closely follow the team's development-like Richard Labbé-know that the real engine is sometimes the one you hear the least.
