The game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Los Angeles Kings tonight is drawing attention for several reasons.

And it's not just because the Military Appreciation night will take place at the Bell Centre in front of a crowd that's expected to be loud.
"The Montreal Canadiens are proud to honor those who have served or are currently serving our country via a variety of initiatives on Tuesday.

A ceremonial puck drop featuring two Veterans of the Second World War-Corporal (Ret'd) Anne McNamara and Flying Officer (Ret'd) Howard McNamara;

Performances of the national anthems with a flag party composed of members from Les Fusiliers Mont Royal."

It will be Joel Armia's return to Montreal, and that adds an emotional touch, as he played more than 400 games with the Tricolore. He's having a good start to the season, with seven points in 16 games.
"Joel Armia makes his return to Montreal as the Canadiens welcome the Los Angeles Kings on Military Appreciation Night at the Bell Centre.

Armia played 406 games in a Habs uniform across seven seasons, including the team's magical run to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final."

You also add the standings and the fact that it's important to keep a good pace early in the season.
The Kings, on their side, have a lot of trouble playing at home, but they are strong on the road.
All of this makes the evening really interesting, but there is especially one detail that stands out as the game approaches.

Samuel Montembault Will Be the Starting Goaltender Against the Kings

According to what Anthony Martineau reported this morning, it is Samuel Montembault who will get the start in goal for the Canadiens tonight.
"Samuel Montembeault in net tonight."

- Anthony Martineau
I really like this decision.
It's important to maintain a good balance between the two goaltenders, especially in a long season.
It means that Monty will get his chance to show what he can bring.
He enters this game in a context where the team's confidence is very high, after a big win against the Utah Mammoth in the last game.
The Kings are an experienced team, difficult to beat, and their performance on the road is strong, which makes the challenge even more interesting.
Another interesting fact: the Canadiens will also be looking to break an eight-game winless streak against Los Angeles.
