David Reinbacher's future is a hot topic in Montreal, and analyst Martin Thériault says if he starts in the NHL for the Canadiens, it's because he truly earned it.
Appearing on BPM Sports radio, analyst Martin Thériault offered some insight into the scenario awaiting the 2023 fifth overall pick.
According to Thériault, if Reinbacher starts the season directly in the NHL, it won't be by default.
"If he starts in the big league, it's because he truly impressed Canadiens management. He'll have had to earn that spot"
In recent years, the Canadiens have taken a cautious approach with several of their young defensemen, preferring to let them build confidence in the minors before making the full-time jump. If Reinbacher follows that path, he could become a long-term pillar on the blue line.
As training camp approaches, one thing is clear: David Reinbacher will be given every opportunity to force management's hand. Whether in Laval or Montreal, all eyes will be on him from puck drop.
