The Canadiens' fans would love to see Trevor Zegras come to Montreal, at least the majority of them. A dazzling and talented forward like him doesn't come around often.

A lot of speculation is coming from Montreal, but it's also starting to come from elsewhere. Indeed, several insiders, including David Pagnotta and Frank Seravalli, believe that his next destination could be Montreal.
When rumors start spreading beyond the city, it becomes even more interesting.
"And when you realize that the talk is leaning in that direction even far from Montreal, you can see that there's quite a bit of smoke. In his article yesterday for The Athletic, Eric Duhatschek talked a bit about Zegras' situation, and his conclusion was clear: the Canadiens and the Ducks 'look like two potential partners' for a transaction involving Zegras."

Everything falls into place. Kent Hughes loves players of this age, you could even say those drafted in 2019, like Kirby Dach, Cole Caufield, and Alex Newhook.
Moreover, the Habs are one of the few teams that have the means to pay the necessary price for his acquisition. With five first-round picks over the next three years and an interesting prospect pool, the GM's arguments are solid.
Regardless, no matter how much we speculate, Kent Hughes won't reveal his hand. However, that doesn't stop us from dreaming and thinking that a trade between the Canadiens and the Ducks would make sense.
