Jake Allen breaks silence on Carey Price and his trade
For those who believe it was a relief for Jake Allen to be traded, think again. The goaltender commented on the transaction that sent him to New Jersey, and he was very emotional.
"Just to have had the chance to play 1 game with this organization, it's special for me!" - Jake Allen
Allen and his family loved Montreal and the Canadiens' organization. If he agreed to waive his no-trade clause to go to New Jersey, it's out of respect for the Canadiens, not the other way around.
Allen specifically mentioned how proud he is of the Stanley Cup Final and his time with Carey Price.
"Having the chance to play with Carey Price and almost winning a Stanley Cup is something I'm really proud of." - Jake Allen
Yes, Carey is still considered one of the great goaltenders to have played not only in the organization but also in the last 20 years.
Allen is a true professional; he'll roll up his sleeves and win games with the Devils. He will always be a former Canadien, and he has nothing to be ashamed of in his time with the Bleu-Blanc-Rouge.
