Kent Hughes was ignored by a prospect, and it went unnoticed
Kent Hughes and his colleagues from the second floor were in Buffalo this week, meeting with numerous prospects.
It's noteworthy that Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton are not always present at these meetings, so their presence usually indicates something positive.
However, there was one prospect who caught attention, but not necessarily for the best reasons. Despite this, things turned out well.
Konsta Helenius ignored Kent Hughes and the Canadiens initially, but he got a second chance.
"The Canadiens had sent a questionnaire to Konsta Helenius this season.
The young man just told me, laughing, that he forgot to respond.
He recently met with the Canadiens in Buffalo.
'Honestly, I think they like me!' " - Anthony Martineau
With Kent Hughes, it was overlooked, but one wonders if he had ignored a form from Lou Lamoriello, whether it would have been as easily forgiven.
Regardless, Helenius is expected to be drafted between the 10th and 15th pick, and the Canadiens are not likely in that range.
