After the "storm" from the night before, many expected the NHL to react quickly to the comments made by some Montreal Canadiens players - and even by Martin St-Louis.

But against all expectations, no fines have been announced yet, and that's raising quite a few questions.
HFTV Sports summed up the general feeling among fans in a post shared on X:
"No fines for the Habs last night eh? It's almost as if they were right"
A simple "tweet," but one that says a lot...
Maybe the NHL is trying to sweep it all "under the rug" to avoid drawing too much attention?

The Canadiens' comments have been making waves since yesterday

"The refs kind of took over the game there and kudos to them for winning it." - Cole Caufield
They felt that several questionable penalties had changed the course of the game.
"I'm going to be honest with you, started with Slaf's penalty. Talked to him after that one, they admitted it wasn't a penalty, made a mistake."

Very strong words - the kind that, under normal NHL rules, could easily have led to a financial penalty.
I must say, I really thought fines were coming...
But for now, nothing has been announced.
And it gives the impression that the league prefers to let the dust settle rather than stir things up further.
In the meantime, fans are enjoying a small moment of moral revenge. It's not much, but it's better than nothing!

Do you think the Canadiens were right to criticize the referees after the game against the Oilers?
