The performance of the Canadiens' second-line center stood out in what was a tough game for the team.
New season, new injury for Dach.
Since joining the Habs in 2022, the 24-year-old has played in less than 50% of regular season games - just 123 out of a possible 252.

Some pointed out that even though it wasn't his first game of the season, he's still coming back from a major injury. Others, however, were far less forgiving.
Anthony Martineau criticizes Kirby Dach's effort against the Edmonton Oilers
Journalist Anthony Martineau also reacted to his performance.
Aware of the context of his return to play, he still expressed his disappointment:
"I want to be lenient knowing his history.
But Kirby Dach didn't look good at all on that Oilers goal. The effort just wasn't there."

It's unfortunate, but that feeling is shared among many Habs fans.
Maybe he's not at 100%, but you could sense he was holding back.
The season is still young, and he deserves some time. But it's hard, because in his case, the patience is wearing thin.
The Canadiens brought him in to fill the gap at second-line center.
Three years later, it remains a hot topic still sitting on Kent Hughes' desk.
