Patrik Laine is once again worrying the Montreal Canadiens, and now Kent Hughes is trying to calm the storm.

The mystery surrounds Patrik Laine, who has been absent from the Montreal Canadiens' Western Canada road trip so far.
During his press conference in Edmonton, Kent Hughes wanted to clarify the situation.
"Now, I have enough experience to avoid saying that everything is fine. In the past, so many things have happened" Hughes said

He clearly remembers many cases where seemingly minor injuries turned into something worse.
The general manager specifically mentioned the case of Christian Dvorak.
"At first, we thought it wasn't anything serious. Then, all of a sudden, we found out that his ACL and MCL [anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament] had been affected."

I like hearing that kind of honesty from the GM!

Kent Hughes confirms that Patrik Laine's injury has nothing to do with last year's

According to an article published on TVA Sports, Hughes confirmed that Laine's current injury is not related to the left knee injury he suffered in September 2024.
"It's something completely new," clarified the Canadiens GM
He also pointed out that the Finnish forward declined surgery last year in order to return to play more quickly.
In fact, DansLesCoulisses.com reported that his recovery seems to be progressing more slowly than expected, a situation that's increasingly worrying fans.
For now, the Canadiens are awaiting the official medical report.
