Lane Hutson impresses everyone at the Canadiens training session
The young Lane Hutson has joined the Montreal Canadiens in Detroit and will be part of the lineup on Monday evening. At his first practice with his new teammates, he's already impressing everyone.
Indeed, during the well-known shootout drill, the defenseman showed everyone just how quick and precise his hands are.
A lot of hope is pinned on this player, and he is already showcasing all the talent he possesses. Even for a forward, it's difficult to average a point per game in the NCAA. Lane has surpassed that mark during his two seasons with Boston University.
Questions remain about him, especially regarding his smaller stature and whether his defensive game will hold up at the NHL level.
He will be paired with David Savard for his first steps in the NHL, so he should theoretically manage well.
We still don't know if Martin St-Louis intends to use him on the power play, but one thing is for sureit won't take long before he's tempted!
