Sometimes, a player is described as being smart with the puck, and the term "Hockey IQ" is a real thing. Nick Suzuki is a great example of a player with above-average hockey intelligence.
On the other hand, Josh Anderson is a bit of the opposite. He doesn't see the game like the smartest players do, which doesn't take away from his other qualities or even his overall intelligence.
To get back to the main point, there is a forward on the Laval Rocket who is very cerebral and has really impressed Pascal Vincent.
The coach is talking about Sean Farrell, who is undoubtedly a hidden gem among the Canadiens' prospects. In his second and final season in the NCAA, he was on fire, racking up 53 points in 34 games.
In the USHL, it was 101 points in 53 games and a championship in his final season. Not bad for a fourth-round pick!
Sean Farrell has a very clear objective for camp: to give it everything he has. After a season with the Rocket in the pros, he continues to develop and could really shake things up in Montreal in the near future.
In my opinion, Sean Farrell isn't quite ready to make the jump to the NHL just yet, but it won't be long. With some contracts ending next year, he'll likely get his chance.
