Few people would have bet on him at the start of camp, but Logan Mailloux has finally convinced the St. Louis Blues' management.
And now the young 22-year-old defenseman will officially start the season in the NHL-a well-deserved reward for someone who doubled his efforts this summer.
GM Doug Armstrong confirmed the news while announcing the final round of cuts.
According to RDS, Mailloux impressed not only with his stats but also with his consistency throughout camp.
A remarkable progression for Logan Mailloux in St. Louis
Since his arrival in a trade with the Montreal Canadiens for
Zachary Bolduc, it seems Mailloux has done nothing but impress.
During the preseason schedule, he recorded four assists in four games, finished with a +3 rating, and even dropped the gloves with
Colton Dach-a notable moment that Blues fans appreciated. Quite a résumé.
I think this news shows just how well Mailloux has managed to turn a new start into a genuine opportunity to revive a career that seemed on hold with the Habs.
He seems more mature, calmer, and ready to earn his place in the NHL. Although his past at the junior level was more difficult, I wish him nothing but the best with his new team.
His offensive profile and physical play could quickly earn him an important role on the third defensive pair.
In my opinion, this marks a turning point in his career, and this time, everything suggests he's ready to seize his chance.
