Logan Mailloux continues to impress since his arrival with the St. Louis Blues after his trade from the Montreal Canadiens a few months ago.
However, it seems that Mailloux has decided to turn that trade into motivation.
Blues fans are starting to realize that they may have landed a key player for their future defense.
Doug Armstrong and the Blues already see a player ready for the NHL
Even before camp, general manager Doug Armstrong made comments about Mailloux that made headlines.
"We think he's NHL ready now. I talked to him, I told him he'll have the opportunity to have a job now. It's his job to come into camp and keep it."

With what we've seen in the preseason games, it seems he was right.
The young defenseman is playing with confidence and seems to have gained maturity.
I honestly believe he is playing like someone who wants to make the Canadiens regret letting him go.
I even think he could force the coaching staff's hand to start the season in the NHL.
I find it a great story. After everything he has gone through, seeing him succeed elsewhere proves that a change of scenery may have been exactly what he needed.
And if the rest of his career unfolds like his training camp, it won't be long before we see him shine at the highest level.
