Martin St-Louis confirms the news for the Canadiens and Montembeault
It's now confirmed by Martin St-Louis: Samuel Montembeault will be in net Saturday night against the powerful Carolina Hurricanes.
With Cayden Primeau's excellent performance in his recent games, there was really a question mark. Samuel is playing well enough to deserve his spot as number one in Montreal, but Primeau has been even better lately. Both goalies are largely responsible for the current three-game winning streak, as they've been outstanding against Seattle, Colorado, and Philadelphia.
Martin St-Louis prefers to keep the rotation intact, and we can't blame him. We really thought Jake Allen's departure would solidify Monty's place, but as mentioned earlier, Primeau is playing so well that the coach has no choice but to use him.
In my humble opinion, Cayden even deserved the start on Saturday night. He's truly dominant right now, and we should take advantage of that, even though Montembeault gives the team a chance to win every game.
