The new injury to Kirby Dach hits the Montreal Canadiens once again, and Martin St-Louis sends a message to his young center.
Yes, another injury for Kirby Dach...
There was a heaviness the moment the Canadiens arrived in Brossard over the weekend.
According to the journalists on site, even the players themselves seemed to understand that the upcoming announcement wasn't going to be light.
Then the confirmation came...
The Montreal Canadiens lose Dach once again and Martin St-Louis tries to send a clear message
We learn that Dach first fractured his foot while blocking a heavy shot from
Nikita Zadorov. After that, a puck shot by
Mark Kastelic hit exactly the same spot a few minutes later.
Despite the pain, he finished the game.
This is now his fourth major injury in four seasons. After practice, Martin St-Louis didn't try to beat around the bush.
"I told him 2026 will be his year. It's easier said than done, but you have to stay positive. He will miss some time, it shouldn't be too much time"
- MSL
You can see the message is clear. He wants Dach to keep his head up.
In my opinion, the Habs really lack stability at center, and every injury makes everything even more complicated.
I think the next games will tell us a lot about whether this group is capable of getting through this difficult stretch.
