The Canadiens sign a very important three-year contract
As the draft and free agent market approach, the Canadiens have just announced a significant three-year contract signing.
Interestingly, this doesn't involve a specific player but rather pertains to the Canadiens' ECHL affiliate, the Trois-Rivières Lions.
Canadiens Announce Three-Year Contract with the Lions
Indeed, this is excellent news for the Canadiens and the Rocket. The players in the organization will continue to benefit from reduced travel times during call-ups.
Gone are the days when the Canadiens' farm team was in St. John's, Newfoundland, requiring a long journey to join the main club. Even when it was the Hamilton Bulldogs, the drive was more than five hours.
The proximity of the three citiesMontreal, Laval, and Trois-Rivièresoffers significant advantages for the entire organization.

With recent news that the Lions were uncertain about remaining in the ECHL, this is undoubtedly good news.
The club is now assured of staying within the Canadiens' organization for the next three years, which is certainly excellent news.
