There was a rather interesting and unexpected personnel movement in the Montreal Canadiens organization, and it could impact young Cayden Primeau.
The Trois-Rivières Lions goalie, Luke Cavallin, was recalled by the Laval Rocket for a reason that completely escapes us.
Indeed, there are no injuries among the four goalies above. This means that
Samuel Montembeault, Cayden Primeau,
Jakub Dobes and Connor Hughes are all available.
You will understand that this recall is very intriguing, especially since no additional information on the organization's intentions has been given.
"The Rocket has recalled goalie Luke Cavallin from the Trois-Rivières Lions." - Laval Rocket
We know that Kent Hughes tried to acquire
Yaroslav Askarov this summer, and we know that Jakub Dobes is highly regarded by the organization. He won't stay in Laval for long.
The goalie was also among the last to be cut at training camp, which clearly shows the team's interest in him.
For his part, Cayden Primeau never really seems to have convinced Kent Hughes he was the man for the job. He is very inconsistent and that is the worst flaw for a goalie, because he makes players more nervous in front of him.
Regardless, we will definitely have an explanation quickly. Whether it is a hidden and not yet announced injury, or a transaction that is about to materialize, there will be changes in the goaltending department in the organization, and it could well reach the Montreal Canadiens.
