MAJOR: Daniel Briere takes action with Carter Hart, and it creates a spark
A lot has transpired in the past two weeks regarding the scandal involving the 2018 Team Canada Junior. We now know the identity of the five players involved, and they have all been charged.
Indeed, Carter Hart, Alex Formenton, Dillon Dube, Cal Foote, and Michael McLoed all reported to the London police to receive their charges.
As for the next steps, there is uncertainty, but according to Rick Westhead, a journalist handling the case with expertise, the trial may not begin until as late as 2026.
Daniel Brière has provided another indication that it will take a long time to resolve, as he has removed the name of his number one goalkeeper from the active player list.
"Philadelphia #LetsGoFlyers have moved goaltender Carter Hart to non-roster" - CapFriendly
This means he is no longer part of the team's 23-player roster, allowing Brière to call up his replacement.
This is the first in a series of steps that could lead to contract termination. We will keep you informed as soon as we have updates.
