Last-minute new charges related to the Team Canada junior scandal

Within the last few hours, we learned that Alex Formenton has been charged in connection with the Team Canada Junior scandal, and he could face up to 14 years in prison.

Shortly after, we found out that the four NHL players suspected in this story, Cal Foote, Dillon Dube, Michael McLoed, and Carter Hart, have also been summoned by the London police to receive their official charges.

In the latest updates, only Formenton has been officially charged, and he maintains his innocence. Now, it's the turn of McLoed and Dillon Dube to be charged, and they too will plead not guilty.

"Lawyers for Michael McLeod say the New Jersey Devils forward has been charged and that he will plead not guilty." - Rick Westhead

"A lawyer for Calgary Flames forward Dillon Dube confirms Dube has been charged and says he will plead not guilty." - Rick Westhead

It's only a matter of time before the other two are also charged. If found guilty, they could face up to 14 years in prison, and their careers would be officially over.

If they are charged with a less severe offense, the NHL will still have to take action, and we might have seen them for the last time in North America.

Let's wait to see what the verdicts will be before passing judgment, but it doesn't look good for them. If they have indeed done what they are accused of, I truly hope they will never be able to don an NHL uniform again.
