The return of the Quebec Nordiques has been a topic of discussion for about 10 years now. Gary Bettman seems to consistently oppose it, but sooner or later, he will have to come to his senses.
If it's not him, it will be his successor. Bettman is not immortal, and he will have a replacement sooner or later. In the meantime, Quebec's Minister of Finance, Eric Girard, has a meeting scheduled with the commissioner.
This meeting is today, April 2nd, in New York. Girard's job is to ensure that Bettman has all the updated information regarding the Nordiques' return project. Girard is truly passionate about this project and he won't give up on it.
This kind of meeting is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, he will be able to finally convince Gary to reconsider, who seems to prefer keeping a team in Arizona or giving Atlanta a third chance before considering Quebec.
