Worrisome scene in the Stanley Cup Final: the Panthers have given up
The Panthers had control of the Stanley Cup Final series, leading 3-0 against the Oilers. Everyone was in good spirits and things were going well.
The problem is they're up against the world's best duo of forwards in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, so they can't ease off, which they did in the last two games.
Once again, the best player in the world, Connor McDavid, was sensational in the victory, tallying 4 points, including the insurance goal into an empty net.
Speaking of that goal, it's clear the Panthers gave up. While Matthew Tkachuk gave his all to make a spectacular save on the goal line, others didn't step up.
"Tkachuk makes a great save on the goal line and Ekman-Larsson... gives up on the play and lets McDavid score anyway.
With the Stanley Cup in the arena, not cool, man."
Faces are long in Florida. Coach Paul Maurice, who was joking with reporters, isn't laughing anymore. The players are discouraged, and it shows.
Although the series still favors the Panthers, the momentum clearly belongs to the Oilers. They've been dominant in the last two games and will be tough to stop.
