It's confirmed for Jake Allen and the Edmonton Oilers

It's been weeks, if not months, that there have been rumors about a trade involving Jake Allen. The Oilers have been particularly active, sending scouts to watch the Canadiens' games several times.

This is not just a coincidence; the Oilers even sent their scouting staff in groups of three at the same time, including their goaltending specialist and the brother of GM Ken Holland.

According to Elliotte Friedman, a trade was indeed about to be confirmed between the two teams, but a last-minute change derailed it.

Friedman (32TP): "I really do think there was a time this year I thought Jake Allen was going to be in Edmonton, now I'm not convinced that's going to happen"

With Stuart Skinner's impressive performance in the past month, it's unlikely that the Oilers will turn back to the Canadiens, but the Kings could certainly be potential suitors.

Friedman on Kings (32TP): "I think they will add a goalie, I do. I think they will add a goalie, whether it's Allen or somebody else, I think they will add a goalie"

With Phoenix Copley injured, the Kings will need a solid goaltender if they want to go far in the playoffs, and their window is open now. Moreover, they don't seem to have full confidence in Cam Talbot despite his strong start to the season. Currently, it's David Rittich who is winning games.
