We saw it during the 2022 draft held in Montreal: Pierre-Luc Dubois was in Montreal, even at the Bell Centre when the Kirby Dach trade was announced.

There were strong rumors about his move to the Canadiens, and they continued for a year until the Kings eventually paid a high price for his services.

Today, no one in Montreal is disappointed, but it's a different story in Los Angeles. Kings fans are furious, and I must admit, I would feel the same. Pierre-Luc has not met expectations, not even close.

Not scoring often happens. However, effort must be given, and the team must not be hurt during tough times, and Dubois has failed to do that.

Even in the playoffs, he took a completely stupid penalty in the final game against the Oilers. A penalty out of frustration and very selfish, which greatly contributed to his team's loss.

The forward now has two choices: either come back to Montreal for the summer and take a break or train very hard to get out of this slump next season and justify his GM Rob Blake's decision.

Pierre-Luc Dubois Chose the Right Option
It seems PLD has chosen to get out of his slump, as he will stay in Los Angeles for the summer and work hard with his coach.

Hiller on Dubois: «I live here in LA during the summer, my understanding is PL is going to spend most of his (off-season) in LA. He and I will have plenty of discussions this summer; I know he's not happy with his season. We'll work together on it. Both our goal is for him to come back and have a great season next year.»

This is excellent news and a sign of maturity from Dubois.

I really hope he can bounce back. If he works hard over the summer with the team's support, it can only be beneficial for him and the Kings.
