A Canadian team would be in the lead to acquire Carter Hart and it's a surprising destination
As we reported in the last few hours, the next move of the Philadelphia Flyers would already be known, as the team's new GM, Daniel Brière, has been simply tireless since his arrival in office.
He made a major splash yesterday, sending defenseman
Ivan Provorov to Columbus in return for six pieces, namely a first-round pick, two second-round picks, a promising prospect in
Helge Grans, as well as goalie
Cal Petersen and defender
Sean Walker.
Now, Brière would be looking to part ways with his young goalie Carter Hart, and the latter would be carefully considering offers to conclude another significant transaction.
"As for ongoing speculations about Carter Hart, there is no doubt that the Flyers are engaged in trade talks, but at this stage, they are still listening." - Darren Dreger
Of course, even though
Samuel Montembeault seems to be gaining more and more confidence in front of the net, as he was excellent at the last World Championship, it is very possible that Kent Hughes and the Canadiens might still be interested in the young Flyers' goalie.
Depending on the price to pay, a tandem of Montembeault and Hart could be very interesting for the coming years in Montreal.
However, a Canadian team would be at the top of the list to potentially acquire the 24-year-old goalie, and it's not the Canadiens. To our great surprise, the Edmonton Oilers would be very aggressive in this case.
While Skinner can undoubtedly attract teams from the NHL, the case of Campbell might be much more complicated, as he is signed for another four seasons at $5M annually. He has greatly disappointed this season, making him very unattractive on the trade market.
In short, the next few days promise to be particularly interesting in the NHL.
