In recent years, every time the Montreal Canadiens pay tribute to a late legend, emotions always run high - and let's just say that tonight, it was even more moving.
This time, it was a small moment, almost unnoticed, but one that managed to touch everyone.
During the ceremony honoring Ken Dryden before the season opener against the Seattle Kraken, the cameras captured a scene of rare beauty: Madame Élise Béliveau, the widow of the legendary Jean Béliveau, standing in the stands and applauding with emotion.
The Canadiens' official account shared the clip with a simple word:

This moment, though subtle, quickly drew reactions from hockey fans across Quebec.
Seeing Madame Béliveau applaud another great of the Canadiens, in that atmosphere filled with memories, reminded many of the golden years of the red, white, and blue.
I must say, I was deeply moved myself.
It felt like a symbol of respect between two generations of Canadiens legends.
While the crowd was paying tribute to Dryden, Martin St-Louis also received a loud ovation.
According to Nicolas Cloutier of TVA Sports, the Canadiens' coach was visibly emotional in front of the magnitude of the scene.
