A Special Night Awaits: Canadiens Set for an Emotional Home Opener at the Bell Centre
The big night is approaching at the Bell Centre, as on Tuesday, Montreal Canadiens fans will finally be able to welcome their team for the first home game of the season.
Everything indicates that the evening will be as festive as it will be emotional.
"Fix You" by Coldplay.. Michel Lacroix shouting "Let's welcome our Canadiens!"... Less than 24 hours!
As reported by Marco D'Amico, the pre-game ceremony will begin exceptionally at 6:50 p.m., ten minutes earlier than usual. The reason?
A special tribute to Ken Dryden, a legend of the 1970s and an iconic figure of the organization.
But that won't be the only surprise of the evening.
A completely reimagined player presentation
According to D'Amico, the Canadiens' player introductions will look like nothing we've seen before.
"A couple of notes for tomorrow's Canadiens home opener:
- Get to your seats early, pre-game ceremony set to start at 6:50 due to homage planned for Ken Dryden
- The players will then be introduced on the ice, to the sound of their individually chosen songs."
- Marco D'Amico
An original way to showcase each team member's personality and to give a more festive tone to an evening that's already shaping up to be memorable.
I think this kind of initiative shows how much the organization wants to reconnect with the fans.
On the ice, the Canadiens will face the Seattle Kraken around 7 p.m.
Martin St-Louis' players will want to put on a good show for their fans, especially after a very positive start to the season so far.
In short, between the tribute to Ken Dryden, the new player introductions,
Lane Hutson's contract extension, and a clearly fired-up crowd, this opening night promises to be unforgettable!
