The Montreal Canadiens organization is relying on several extremely talented young players, whether with the big club, in Laval, or in Trois-Rivières. The future looks very promising for fans, and we've just learned about the arrival of a new Quebec-born defenseman who played several seasons in the QMJHL.

The departure of Logan Mailloux brings sadness to fans, but Kent Hughes managed to make a solid move by acquiring forward Zachary Bolduc from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for the defenseman.
Losing Mailloux would be a major blow for many organizations, but the Canadiens have so many talented young defensemen that it was hard to find him a spot on the main roster, which already features Lane Hutson, Noah Dobson, Kaiden Guhle, Jayden Struble, and Arber Xhekaj, alongside veterans Mike Matheson and Alexandre Carrier.
In Laval, Adam Engstrom is very solid and may even force management to keep him in the NHL.
Meanwhile, young David Reinbacher continues his development. At 22, William Trudeau is also performing well and will be one to watch. His role with the Rocket will be especially important with Mailloux now in St. Louis.
Defensemen Bryce Pickford (81st in 2025), Owen Protz (102nd), and Bogdan Konyushkov (110th in 2023) are all recent Canadiens draft picks who could soon be part of the picture as well.
With the Trois-Rivières Lions, veteran Chris Jandric, 26, was sensational during the team's playoff run.
Vincent Sévigny, a defenseman from Quebec City, also played excellently and is only 24 years old. At 6'3", 185 lbs, this young man has many great attributes to his game. Kirby Proctor, also 24, is another big body who plays excellent defense.

Quebecer Jacob Dion Joins the Trois-Rivières Lions

It has now been announced that another defenseman is joining the Montreal Canadiens organization: Jacob Dion, a former QMJHL player, will suit up for the Trois-Rivières Lions.
Jacob Dion Joins the Lions!

The Lions announce the arrival of Quebec-born defenseman Jacob Dion! An offensive defenseman, he stands out with his mobility and vision across all three zones. He'll bring a boost of offense and energy to the lineup!
Dion is 23 years old and played for the Drummondville Voltigeurs from 2018 to 2022, before continuing his career with the University of Moncton.
The native of Stoke, in the Eastern Townships, is very skilled with the puck and capable of putting up a lot of points. We wish him all the best with the Lions!
