In recent days, Carey Price's name has been circulating heavily in trade rumors, and his contract could be moved in the coming weeks.

Price will receive a $5.5 million bonus on September 1, and teams do not want to take on this amount.
However, a very likely destination has emerged for Carey Price.

Trade Involving Carey Price and the San Jose Sharks

The San Jose Sharks have a problem with their salary cap.
The team needs to reach the salary floor, and Carey Price's contract could definitely help them.
"Carey Price's contract after September 1 will be far too attractive for floor teams to resist - $10.5M AAV v. $800K in salary. Nuts. Price will end his career with a different team like the Sharks (unless he signs a one day deal to return to Habs)."
If the Sharks complete this acquisition, it could help them hit the salary floor without paying the full amount of the contract.
Price's last season with the Montreal Canadiens was in 2021-22.
If he is traded, it would certainly be very strange to see Price in another organization.
Price was selected in the first round of the 2005 draft (5th overall) and is known as one of the best goaltenders in the organization's history.
