Canadiens Eye Big Trade Following Carey Price Contract Move in September
Rumors surrounding the Montreal Canadiens are always plentiful, and Kent Hughes remains active in his trade market discussions.
However, one particular factor is reportedly delaying the acquisition of a second-line center for the Montreal organization.
Since arriving with the Canadiens in January 2022, Kent Hughes has made several moves and multiplied his successful deals.
The acquisition of
Sean Monahan along with a first-round pick - which was eventually used in the trade that brought
Noah Dobson to Montreal - was a true masterstroke, especially since he never gave anything back to the Calgary Flames in return.
In addition, don't forget that Hughes later re-traded Monahan, sending him to the Winnipeg Jets.
The Trade of Carey Price's Contract Could Delay the Acquisition of a Second-Line Center for the Montreal Canadiens
"Back from vacay and made some calls.
The trade market is pretty dormant for the Habs, but moving Carey Price's contract in September is expected to open up the Canadiens to potentially making another move.
The clear message: No lateral moves"
If this information proves true, Kent Hughes still has plenty of work to do in the coming weeks.
