Cole Caufield on his way out of Montreal? Plot twist from the fans
With the contract Cole Caufield signed a year ago, it seemed certain he would remain in Montreal, but fans are feeling uncertain.
On Jean-Charles Lajoie's show on TVA Sports, there was a poll asking if fans would agree to trade Cole Caufield for Alexis Lafrenière.
Surprisingly, the majority responded yes.

Cole Caufield has 149 points in 205 career games, including 81 goals. Lafrenière has 148 points in 298 games and is a year younger than Cole.
Perhaps Alexis's current playoff performance, with 12 points in 13 games, influences opinions, making this an interesting proposition.
Personally, I love Alexis Lafrenière and have always liked him. I followed him in the QMJHL and even saw him play several times. However, I would never make this trade today.
