Martin St-Louis called on a faceoff expert to correct some very important details for the Montreal Canadiens during Wednesday morning's practice.

Following last night's disappointing 5-1 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis called his team to a practice at 11:30 a.m. in Brossard to set things straight.
I really like this kind of news!
We learned that former player and faceoff specialist Marc Bureau was on the ice to guide and help several players, including Joe Veleno, Zachary Bolduc, Jake Evans, Oliver Kapanen, Kirby Dach, and Alex Newhook.
Even though the Montreal Canadiens currently rank 8th in the NHL for faceoffs, with a success rate of 51.7%, the team clearly wants to keep that part of its game strong.
Maybe also a potential new center? Bolduc? Newhook?

Marc Bureau, a consultant already familiar with the team

This isn't the first time Bureau has worked with the Canadiens. Last January, he was hired as a consultant after previously offering a few helping sessions in Brossard.
As explained by Radio-Canada, his arrival helped the team improve in the faceoff circle. In just a few weeks, the Canadiens' success rate went from 47.6% to 50%, thanks to small adjustments in their approach.
"It's good to work with him."

"We've never really had a faceoff coach who specializes in that area. As a former player, he shows us that it's first and foremost a question of mindset. It's about treating every faceoff as if the end of the world depended on it - but once it's done, you forget it and focus on the next one. So, it's very much a question of approach."

- Nick Suzuki

Today, I found the practice really interesting.
The players worked, among other things, on positioning, defensive situations, and quick passes in the neutral zone.
In my opinion, it's often these kinds of details that end up making all the difference in a close game.
You can sense that the Canadiens want to master all the little details to stay competitive every night.
