Joshua Roy's name is circulating more and more in Montreal, and according to several sources, the young Montreal Canadiens forward has even been mentioned in trade discussions.
It would reportedly be GM Kent Hughes himself who has evaluated different options regarding the future of the 21-year-old player, who is struggling to secure a regular spot with the big club.
A well-known insider reported that Joshua Roy's name surfaced in trade rumors over the summer. On an episode of The Shaun Starr Show, Marco D'Amico revealed that several NHL general managers had expressed interest in him.

The young player from Beauce had shown some promising flashes in his first NHL games, collecting 9 points in 23 outings, but he failed to establish himself as a regular during the last training camp.
I personally believe that Joshua Roy hasn't had his last word yet. He has too much talent to be dismissed too quickly, and sometimes, a stint in Laval or a change of environment can reignite a player.
With the Canadiens' current depth at right wing, however, he could become a piece Hughes uses to seek help elsewhere, whether on defense or at center.
One thing is certain: his name will continue to spark discussion in Montreal.
