Last June, GM Kent Hughes pulled off a major trade by acquiring defenseman Noah Dobson from the New York Islanders in exchange for forward Emil Heineman and two 2025 first-round picks.

However, Noah Dobson is a 25-year-old defenseman with tremendous talent. In 2023-24, he tallied 70 points, including 10 goals, in 79 games. Standing at 6'4", 200 lbs, the 12th overall pick from the 2018 draft has exceptional vision and will play a key role on the Canadiens' blue line.
The future of the defense corps has rarely looked this promising, with Dobson, Hutson, Guhle, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, and Struble supported by quality veterans like Mike Matheson and Alexandre Carrier.

Noah Dobson is officially in La Belle Province with his partner, Alexa Dobson. She shared the news via an Instagram story on her account.
In case you didn't know, it was Dobson himself who requested a trade to Montreal. To show just how excited he is to wear the team's jersey, he recently updated his Instagram profile picture to display a Canadiens jersey with his name and number 53.
This young man is thrilled to be coming to Montreal - and Montreal is thrilled to welcome him! What a story!
