The Canadiens made two great acquisitions in the last two drafts with Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook. Kent Hughes has already mentioned that he's ready to repeat the experience.

There's a lack of punch in the Canadiens' top six, and there are too many defensemen, so one or more trades are imminent for Hughes. He can't afford to lack depth up front while leaving young defensemen in the press box.

Insider David Pagnotta released some very significant information that comes at the right time for Kent Hughes. The Minnesota Wild reportedly put the names of two young players on the market, and one of them is very interesting.

Marco Rossi was the 9th overall pick in 2020. He just finished a season of 82 games, with 21 goals and 40 points. He's ready to break out, and the fit would be perfect since the Wild needs young defensemen. How about that!

"The Minnesota Wild is beginning to plan its summer trades and has started letting the NHL know that some of its players are available for trade.

Minnesota is willing to trade goaltender Filip Gustavsson, who still has two years left on his contract for a salary of $3.75 million. [...]

And as reported by Anthony Di Marco of TFP on Thursday, the Wild is also listening to offers for young center Marco Rossi." - The Fourth Period

The goaltender Gustavsson is also very interesting, but the Canadiens don't need help in that department. It's really Rossi who is intriguing and could pay off for Kent Hughes.

At the right price, the Canadiens could very well acquire their next Kirby Dach!
