The name of Martin Necas has been circulating a lot in the Canadiens' circle lately, but it seems we can forget about that.

Indeed, according to what journalist Nick Kypreos reports, the history between the Canadiens and the Hurricanes will prevent this kind of transaction from happening.

We remember that Marc Bergevin made an offer sheet to Sebastian Aho, and then Don Waddell made one to Jesperi Kotkaniemi.

Even though Bergevin and Waddell are now elsewhere, the big boss in Carolina is a very vindictive man, and that's owner Tom Dundon.

According to reports, the new GM of the team will just be a puppet, as Waddell was.

"Many teams are calling the Carolina Hurricanes to inquire about trading forward Martin Necas, including the Montreal Canadiens. Although the Habs like the player, there seems to be no chance of a trade with Montreal given the tensions surrounding Jesperi Kotkaniemi's offer sheet in 2021." - Nick Kypreos

So, a trade between the Hurricanes and the Canadiens involving Martin Necas is impossible because of Sebastian Aho and Jesperi Kotkaniemi.

Unfortunately, I'm not surprised to hear this. Tom Dundon is the most influential owner in the NHL and he has a long memory.
